Nature Week

Last week was the week of nature. Everything that we did throughout the week tied into the subject of nature. Make it Monday was a nature journal and to do rubs in nature in that journal.
Tutor Tuesday each one of the kids decided on an animal in NATURE. I was impressed that my soon to 18 year old is soooo excited when we do the Tutor Tuesday's lol!!

Wednesday was "What's Cooking? Wednesday!" We made chex mix to fit along with the nature theme and Thursday we were just thankful for everything that God made for our family that we just hung out outside and enjoyed life :-)
I can't remember if I have showed yall this but it ROCKS!!! They are reading and doing great! I am going to be taking them next wwwk to the library at school and get more books!! I highly highly recommend doing this for your children this summer. It is only 30 minutes a day (at least) and keeps them motivated!!
Next week is all about COLORS!!! It is Doodles favorite week ( I am thinking)!! See Yall Soon!!!

SUMMER IS HERE!!!!

So excited to see the kids having fun, creating, reading, and learning even though it is summer break for them! This is the time that my "job" becomes more demanding of my time and that I get to be integrated into all of the memories being made. This time is why I feel so blessed to be able to stay home!! I love my kids and spending time with them and helping them become the young ladies and gentlemen that are becoming.

Now to catch everyone up....

The end of the school was a blur and tons of extra events, adward ceremonies, and pictures of course! This year is a bitter sweet year for our family. This year our "baby" is leaving the elementary and also turning double digits, very soon I might add! Everyone knows that the elementary age is always a little bit more embelished than the upper grades. He had a end of year party at skateworld as well as the awards ceremony. I as crazy as I am went to both and took pictures, have a mentioned that I LOVE taking pictures? LOL!! I am not the best at it but I just love capturing as many memories of these crazy kids as I can.  (Here ya go!)

Never a serious bone in this wonderful childs body :-)

MRS.S 4th grade would not have been the same without you!!

This boy is always surrounded by girls...should I be worried, or should the other mom's be worried...hehee!!

Off to bed I go and tomorrow I will be back to show you what has been going on the first few days of our summer!! All I can tell you is that the calendar and the extra activities are coming together very nicely!!

See yall tomorrow!!

Happy Friday!!

Hey Everyone! Hope yall had a great week! It has been a nice whirlwind this week and next week there is only three days left of school for the kiddos! I have started to do the sweeping every night and oddly I forget sometimes. I have been told that it takes 21 days for something to become a habit. I have now added an alarm for my phone to tell me to sweep every night...lol! How crazy is that?!? An alarm just to remind you to sweep the house..lol! I don't know if it is because I am busy or just my old-timers kicking in!! I going to be doing some deep cleaning tomorrow afternoon. (hopefully!!)

This weekend I will be "tweeking" the schedule for the first two weeks of the summer schedule and go through the supplies to see what I will be needing. It is also that time when the kiddos try on their swimsuits to make sure they are "appropriate" for mama :-)

This is also the time that I start working on some things for the band boosters, we have a meeting the first Monday of every month. I am still doing the fundraising for the band as well as I was newly elected to the vice president position of the boosters. I am humbled and excited about this new adventure!!

The final thing that I am going to do, which is different from the years in the past, is to start collecting school supplies for the kids next school year. Can you imagine how much paper that six kids go through in a single school year!! WOW!!  I think I just filled my to do list up again! EEKK!

On to better things, this week was packed with fun events like Pee-Wee last field day, Steve-O and Bean final 5th grade gym night, and Buggs first dance as an upcoming 7th grader!! I love getting to be involved in the events that the kids do and I also like that they don't mind me being there. Here are a few pictures from the week!

Next week we will start disecting the cleaning schedule as well as break down the summer calendar, week one and show you how it can be integrated into everyday and still keep everyone busy busy!! See yall next week!!

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!!

Hey Yall!!! Welcome back! Sorry I have been super busy with "work" and kids and getting ready for the start to SuMmEr!!! My house is bubbling over with excitement and anticipation for the SUPER SUMMER CALENDAR!!

I know I have mentioned this is previous post, so here it is! This calendar has a theme for everyday plus a theme for every week.
Monday = Make It Monday! (arts and crafts)
Tuesday = Tutor Tuesday! (science or experiements)
Wednesday = What's Cooking Wednesday! ( baking or cooking a treat or even lunch that goes with the weekly theme)
Thursday = Thankful Thursday! ( community service or our way to give back)
Friday = Field Trip Friday! ( field trips of course)

** I always have a few things that we do all summer so that there is no down time or time to get into trouble**

These calendars are also color coded per child and also includes their camps and the ever faithful summer band!!

Going along with each theme for the week the kids have chosen to do a "report" for an important topic to go along.  This last week of school I have alot of pieces to put together for the upcoming beginning of the summer!  Alot of my ideas for the summer comes from the all famous and very loved from this house...pinterest!! I love love this site! My other passion besides organizing is couponing!!

I am by no means an extreme couponer but I do like to coupon. Here is a link to the thekrazycouponlady .
i read her blog regarding how to begin and I check them about twice a week and print them out. Last time I went to the store we saved a little over $50!!

I really hope that I am helping at least some of you. Do yall have any questions? Any tips for me? I would love to hear back from everyone!!  I'm going to make the menu for the week and sort the clipped coupons to go along with it! I love yall and thank you so much for following/reading along in my crazy life!!!

Tuesday the forgotten day!?

Has anyone ever noticed that Tuesday is not a very popular day? It is not in the middle of the week, nor at the beginning or the end, just kind of there. Poor Tuesday...lol! I just had to throw that in for some food for thought.

Well I have enlisted my sister, N, to help get my booty organized in the field of cleaning. I am not a good cleaner, I will be the first to admit it and my friends and family will agree with me. My sister is alot more organized in this area. She has found a list that split rooms up by days as well as things that need to be done everyday. I loooked at it and I seem to like it. I guess only time will tell.

I have to be honest. I am all over the place since these tornado's have ripped through OK. My heart is saddened and at the same time rejoices that my family that is located in OK was not affected. I have been doing alot of reflecting, extra hugs, extra kisses, and lots of questions. The littles looked at me and said, "Gosh H! Are you ok?" I simply replied that I am fine I just love yall more and more everyday (as long as yall do your chores and don't fight.) hahaha

The rest of this week is going to be dedicated to the award ceremonies, plays, programs, and such.

I am hoping to pull it together by the end of the week and show you all the schedule for the summer! The kids are so stinking excited!! I have to admit so am I!!

Say your prayers and kiss your loved ones tonight!!

Welcome Sunday with a smile :-)

I love Sunday! It is the Lord's day! The day of rest! HAHA!! I know I just had to throw that day of rest in there.  I do seriously love Sunday. For some reason it is the day that the family attempts to do all the laundry and I cook breakfast for the upcoming week for the "little's". (No I am not a super woman and try to do everything for the family. My kids do have chores that do on a daily basis.) I have decided to organize my cleaningof the house. I want a schedule to do for weekly/daily things and a deep cleaning of one thing or more.

This week has flown by super fast. To start off the week Cratos and Doodle had their spring band concert and it was a blast! We also enjoyed three of the four little's Olympic Day! Bean, Bug, and Steve-O did amazing and received several ribbons for their hard work. Last but not least Bug had her spring band concert and she did a great job! I love supporting my kids in everything they do and one of the joys of being a stay at home mom is managing my time so that I can attend as much as possible and still maintain the household--with my crew of helpers of course!!

Here are a few pictures of the weeks events. Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did!!

I am going to cut tonight short to go enjoy some much needed time with my V. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday tomorrow!!

Blessings

I must say one of the things that helps me have a great day is to get up and get the crew up, dressed, fed, and out the door to school...said no one EVER!!! Haha... but seriously, I like to take the kids to school because I get to listen to klove, christian radio.  It helps me remember that this is only a temporary situation and that one day these kiddos I am singing with on the way to school are going to be singing their own kids to school. It helps me to be thankful for what I have and even what I don't have. It is so easy for us to loose sight of the big picture when we are rushing and driving here and driving there. SECRET ALERT!!!
** I like to sit in the driveway after taking the kids to school and sing my heart out as loud as I can!** (try it just once)

This may sound like a shocker to some since I have had a wild streak that has popped up from time to time. It all began one morning when I was pretty stressed about the ususal family stressers. Money, food, laundry, kids fighting, blah, blah, blah. I was flipping stations after telling the kids in the car that they were driving me nuts fighting over a seat in the tank! On pops this song on klove and it was like God slapped me in the face and said wake up!! Why don't you just give it to me. I took a deep breath and said, "happy place." The 50 lb weight was lifted and I was singing and smiling and Doodle looks at me and says, "you found your happy place H"

After I dropped off the kids, on the way home, the 30 day challenge was issued on klove. For 30 days listen to nothing but klove, or if you are like me and don't like commercials, I flip between three stations. I took that challenge.(no I didn't listen to nothing but christian because I don't control everyone else, but if it was my choice it was there)

Here I am almost six months later and I am still finding my happy place every morning or at least everyday and having much brighter and happier days myself along with my family. I just had to share this because (1) it was on my heart to do so and (2) I just think we all need a 30 day challenge every now and then. :-)

Well, I am off to work! I hope you all have a great day and remember "find your happy place!!"
